The problem

Trade businesses often run essential work across disconnected tools: customer notes in one place, schedules in another, estimates and invoices in separate systems, resource information in documents, and a public website that does not reflect operational data.

That fragmentation creates repeated entry, missed context, and more opportunities for something important to fall between systems.

The product direction

Task Forge OS was designed as a shared operating layer. Rather than treating CRM, job management, team coordination, billing, resources, and the business website as unrelated products, the platform connects them around a consistent company and customer record.

Core capabilities

  • Customer and company relationship management
  • Job, task, and crew coordination
  • Estimate and invoice workflows
  • Resource and operational information
  • Role-aware access and business administration
  • Connected public business website functionality
  • Event and lead tracking across the customer journey

Design approach

The interface prioritizes clear status, direct actions, and practical density. The system has to support daily use without forcing users to translate their work into a generic software model.

Features are organized around recognizable business objects and workflows. This gives the product room to expand while preserving a coherent mental model.

What this project demonstrates

Task Forge OS shows SDG’s ability to connect product strategy, data modeling, interface design, application development, deployment, and iteration in one sustained product effort.

It also informs how we approach client work: begin with the real workflow, define a focused release, and build a foundation capable of supporting later complexity.
